What is helium light bands?

Helium light bands refer to the spectral lines or colors emitted by the element helium when it is excited and emits light. The emission spectrum of helium consists of a series of lines at specific wavelengths, with each line corresponding to a particular energy level transition in the atom. The most well-known of these is the bright yellow color in helium-neon lasers.

In addition to the bright yellow line, there are several other spectral lines that make up the helium light bands. These include the red, green, and blue lines in the visible spectrum and several infrared and ultraviolet lines.

Helium light bands are important in various fields, including astronomy, physics, and chemistry. They are used in spectroscopy to identify the element and its properties, and in astrophysics to study the properties and compositions of celestial bodies. Helium light bands have also been used in medical applications such as laser surgery.
